 Updated January 20, 2012 -- The race is on!! Trail status (report from our groomer): "I just came in from cutting down all of the face slapper branches and trees that were over the trail. The trail is in excellent shape and even the deer are not leaving marks. If it stays cold like the forecast says, then we have the best trails yet with a bit of powder on top". Don't forget to visit with the local artists who will be joining us both days, in the Pinestone, with their creations. See you there! Guaranteed minimum $6,000 purse! Featuring purebred and Alaskan classes, youth race and the adorable kid & mutt class. Due to the popularity of the skijoring classes, we have broken them up into separate 1 and 2 dog classes again this year. The 10th annual Haliburton Highlands Dogsled Derby is sanctioned by the IFSS and ISDRA, and is part of the OFSS Triple Crown Race series.
